Controversies and cinema both are two faces of a single coin.... Many times movies  based on social issues ,become the reason of social grievances .

Social issues are very sensitive matter,like widow remarriage and their life struggle,director Deepa Mehta have choosed this issue as her topic in "

Water",it was not easy for her to control the anger of people...later it was also banned for many time...

The same situation happened when Ashutosh Govarikar relesed "Jodha -Akbar

",,it was natural that this movie will create controversy ,and it happened  as predicted .
The historical facts are mostly written by many sources ,so there  is possibility of difference in the facts of different sources..and many times these facts become the main reason for defame for any movie..like in latest movie  

BajiRao-Mastani...critics says that there were many differences in the real facts and movie's scene....but I think controversy is not the only   solution for any social issue.
Because historical and social subjects are the part of real scenario and these should not be taken as a weapon for publicity,,,,

A  director  should only focus on delivering good  .and quality story for audience..which is far away from the social controversies and agitations......
